LEAGUE STORY
Firewall Zero Hour came out at the end of August 2018. Our League was formed and started soon after. It has traditionally played a standard version of the game with matches of consisting 8 rounds. Both teams chose 2 maps and play an Attack and Defence on each. The point scoring system implemented was 3 points for a win (each round), and a bonus ACE point if could win the round with your whole team still alive. Season 1 had 8 teams competing, Season 2 saw 16 teams and most recently we've had 22 teams. (February 2019) We are predominantly UK players although some teams do have players from around the world. The main reason for this is because of the difficulty and complication of arranging the matches across various time-zones.
In November one of our members / administrators hosted the World's first Tournament for FIREWALL and since then FCE (First Contact Entertainment) have said that 'something official' would be coming for the online competitive community however there has still been no news on this aspect from the developer. So this League continues to do what it does best.
We are still focusing on the UK, however if their are like minded individuals who wish to Join the Admin Team and wish to start recruiting teams for leagues in other countries then we are more than happy to welcome you. We are without a doubt the best Firewall Zero Hour Community out there. Just checkout the Facebook group and you'll see that statement is true. Our members do incredible things for this Community and ask for nothing in return, checkout the amazing artwork you can see here on the website (Logo & Fonts). One member has even built a couple of websites (including this one). Another has setup and currently runs our Discord Server, encouraging every team Captain to move over to Discord to manage match arrangements, sharing results etc. Our main member who started all this has even setup an Event Company to promote VR. This has benefitted the League and community by granting us meet-ups at Special Event Venues. Just recently there was a Weekend Event which welcomed people from this community and non-community to enjoy the likes of Air-Soft, Karting, VR demonstrations, Tournaments, night-time entertainment, barbecues and accommodation.
One very special note to mention is another member of this community who took it upon himself to improve our Scoring Spreadsheets and make them editable on our first website, BUT.... he has gone one further and has / is building us our League / Tournament software. Like ClanBase of old, this incredible software will allow members to create an account and register to a team. The Captains will manage their teams, input scores, see results and check league statistics etc. This software is known as Gaming-Synergy and more details will follow soon... This is an exciting time for us.
We started as a small Facebook group, 'FIREWALL ZERO HOUR UK PSVR' and are currently at around 650 members. Our last season operated under the name ACE-VR League. However, although there is a connection between us and the ACE-VR event company, we've decided to Evolve the Game and the League on its own.
Although we started with one leading, now there are many Administrators who are working together to shape this community and lead Firewall Zero Hour by way of online competition.
We are pleased to announce our new name...'Firewall Zero Hour Pro League'
Many games compete competitively online and each have their own unique way to play the game. We have took inspiration from these games, focusing on how they compete on the E-Sports Global Stage. From this we have created our own unique way to play Firewall Zero Hour. This will now be known as 'Operation FIRESALE' and will hopefully become our signature 'Pro League.' More Game Modes are in the works also.
The League page will show the multiple Leagues we have or are intending to run. There has been keen interest to get an Entry League for those new to the game and perhaps still of a low level within the game.
We shall be keeping our TRADITIONAL LEAGUE running with the two divisions ALPHA & BETA and along side will be our new Pro 'Operation FIRESALE' League. All their information can be found on their respective pages.
